Actual customer feedback
I have the t-top box. Trust me, like said, it works.  In fact, I have both my t-tops in my trunk right along with my two 12s.

The tops actually slide down into the trunk area. I put a towel between mine just to make sure nothing scratches. It is a snug fit, so there is no banging, but it's not tight enough to stress anything. Very well done.

T-top storage Installation Directions
1.  You must remove the plastic holders in the lower part of the well.  This will let the box sit
     a tad lower and will give it the proper height.  Two 10mm nuts hold each holder in place.
      A deep-well 10mm socked and ratchet is all you need.
2.   Set the box in place 
3.  Make sure the rear flap of the box is tucked underneath the rear weather stripping.
4.  Pull the box back as far as possible and into position.
5. The passenger top goes in first.  
6.  Take out the passenger top and close the handle.
7.  Slide it in the slot as shown and keep it as far forward as possible
8.  Take out the driver's side top.  
9.  Close the handle
10.  (optional) Take a towel or soft rag and cover the surface of the passenger top.
11.  Slide the driver's top into the slot.

Note: factory  plastic holders must be removed prior to installation in order to
A. get the box to sit at the right height and align to the side panels and
B. in order to store the tops accordingly.
